Diane Ackerman’s The Zookeeper’s Wife Author and Poet Diane Ackerman In the March 5 edition, renowned author and poet Diane Ackerman joins Mark to discuss her book The Zookeeper’s Wife, which relates in Ackerman’s inimical fashion the story of Polish zookeepers Jan and Antoninia Zabinski. The couple managed to save more than three hundred people from Nazi persecution by hiding them in the empty animal cages of their zoo.
